FEELING STRESSED

Hall Pass Linky

http://teach123-school.blogspot.com

I am joining Reagan @ Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits Hall Pass linky party.  It sounds like a lot of fun so of course I wanted to join.  Here are the directions:

I was looking through all my packets trying to find my favorite one.  I like different packets for different reasons.  I decided to pick 3 for this linky party.  It was a turning point for me when I began using my Popcorn Sounds, Bubble Gum Words, and Writing Tips and Tidbits packets.  I felt like I was working better with my parents as a team which made a big difference in my students' achievement.  I used these packets when I taught kindergarten and used them for RTI when I taught 1st grade.  All 3 of these packets have a structured homework program.  You can read more about these packets:

My favorite area is the library.  I love books!  I'm always on the look out for new ones.

I like to use a call bell as a signal.  One ding means the noise is too loud, two dings means "eyes on me", and three dings means it is time to clean up.  When I used my voice in the past, students seemed to tune out my voice.  I feel like they listen closer to what I have to say when I use the call bell.

At school when it gets crazy, try changing your shoes.  I know it sounds odd when you say it.  But, keep an extra pair of shoes at work and switch the next time you feel stressed. I'm not sure how this works but it really does.  Of course, you should also stock up your closet with your favorite caffeinated beverage, candy, and salty snack, too.

My favorite sanity tip you can't do at school.  But, it is the perfect escape when you get home.  A bubble bath is the best way to relax after a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.  It's quiet, you can change your mindset by reading a good book, and you can soak your troubles away.

I love your bubble bath sanity tip! I definitely do that sometimes and it seems to take all my worries and stresses away! I'll have to try the shoe changing tip!
